Sports & Clubs

MCC organises lots of different sporting activities for the whole community, so people can take full advantage of the space and equipment available. We have squash courts, a climbing and bouldering wall as well as a large sports hall that can be used for many different sports.

Local clubs and teachers hire our rooms to run their regular clubs and classes too.

Football Coaching 

Football Coaching with Kixx Halifax Football Academy. 
Kixx is a brilliant and super fun introduction to football for children aged 3-8 years old.


Regular sessions begin Wednesday 10th November:
4.20-5pm for 3-4 year olds
5-5.40pm for 5-8 year olds

Walking Football is Back!

Wednesdays are for Walking Football!!

From Wednesday 8th June, 6-7pm, MCC will run a weekly drop-in session for all ages and abilities, men and women welcome, run by local coach Mark Wisbey.
Walking football has many benefits, including improving fitness, losing weight, helps prevent loneliness and positively affects overall mental and physical health.

All you need is a pair of trainers, loose clothing or maybe your favourite football top and a bottle of water.
Opportunities to play in tournaments and friendlies.

Each session is £4 per session (first session FREE!).

Weight Lifters

Come along to your local fully certified British Weightlifting affiliated competitive Olympic Weightlifting club coached by Eddie Halstead and learn or improve your skills in weight-lifting.

Regular sessions are held each evening Monday to Thursday from 6.30pm, including some Fridays.
Monthly membership £35
Per session  £10


The club has 2 fully licenced BWL level 2 coaches who are both DBS checked.
The gym is small and can only accommodate 4 lifters safely so you must book your session through the club’s Facebook page @MytholmroydWLC-Sports Club

Calder Valley Fell Runners

The group meet every Tuesday evening in the car park at MCC. 

The Juniors meet at 17:45 and the Seniors meet at 18:45

KUGB Shotokan Karate Club

Get fit, learn self-defence and have fun learning Karate or continuing your education in this fantastic martial art.

Classes run at MCC as follows:
Mondays 7.30-9.30pm
Wednesdays 7.30-9.30pm **NEW BEGINNERS CLASS**

New and old members are welcome.
Wear loose-fitting clothing.
Regular gradings with Sensei Gary Hartford.
First class is free.

Every Wednesday, 1-5pm, Sarah Bruce, a qualified Careers Adviser, is available to chat with you.

She will work with you to help you decide what you want to do; make a plan to get there; provide information about local opportunities; support you with your CV, applications and interview preparation and provide ongoing support.
